a journal of farm life & happenings
It has been an odd spring. Cooler than last year with some crops lagging behind. But all of the flower beds are showing healthy growth and next week's warmer temperatures should catch everything up.
Currently, ranunculus reign. Lastnight was spent cutting every single stem for this weekend's flower share members, Mother's Day orders, and a large haul for a wedding at Quonquont Farm. The petals are heavenly and they smell so sweet!
Alongside the ranunculus, bunches of anemones, orlaya, lilacs, and a few others were harvested. Miss Tucky even allowed a photo!
Tomorrow will be a hustle before the rain. Making every effort to nestle all of the ready flowers into the ground. Oh, and the vegetable garden, that gets some loving too.
There's a mountain of tasks to be completed, but I wanted to drop in and drown in flowers for a minute.
Time to keep plugging on,
